Poor Phil. Clint is determined to fix Bruce and Phil, while Bruce is determined to get Clint and Phil together. He knows Phil's already there and just needs to know that Clint is too; he wants them to have that happiness, and he feels bad that his own baggage might get in the way of that for Clint. It just goes to show how willing each one of them is to take care of the other, and Bruce has a warm, amused smile for Clint that he made him a sandwich too. Were things different between the three of them, he would touch Clint's shoulder on his way to eat, but instead he lets his warm look do the talking. He doesn't want to make things weirder for Phil.

"If there's one thing we're good at, it's watching each other's backs." It's maybe too much of a reference to what the three of them had before, but he thinks it's no less true even now. He starts in on his sandwich, grateful for it; he is pretty hungry, now that the weariness of waking up from being the Hulk has started to wear off.

"We're pretty pissed off at Fury, and he might have an army of trained assassins or whatever, but we have a Hulk."
