When he had gotten a phone call from one of his sources on the location of the mesmer, he was already half-way to Kenzi and Bo's place with a breakfast for him and Kenzi to share. He might have gotten Bo something just because he knew she would actually be there but otherwise it was just an afterthought in his mind. There were things Clint kept close in his life but lately that was his free will after what happened with Loki. He couldn't stand to lose that again and fae seemed to trample over it so easily. Bo did just because she had been hungry and he had been a convenient meal. Needless to say, Clint Barton did not appreciate. He had invited him into the house wordlessly like he was already invited in before setting Bo's breakfast on the kitchen counter before disappearing into Kenzi's room. He told her about the lead he had on the mesmer, about looking into it, but eventually their conversation just bled into laughter and joking around.

That lasted for a couple hours if he was truthful with himself. He was okay with wasting away laying in bed next to Kenzi after sharing the breakfast. Even if he was sure that Bo was probably making gagging noises behind him when he was pulling on his jacket as he walked towards the door. Chirping out 'bye, baby' as he made sure he had everything before pulling out his car keys and heading out.

If things went according to plan? Clint would have come back in a couple hours with a smirk on his face and needing someone to figure out how to deal with a dead mesmer. It actually went something along the lines of the mesmer, Roque -- really, get normal names fuckers, got the drop on him. Roque apparently had been feeding his informant the information because apparently news of one of the world's greatest assassin's present in Canada and with knowledge of all the 'fae' business was pretty much a red flag. The fact he hadn't done anything with his trained abilities since he was there was apparently a 'damn shame'. Roque made him a his chauffeur for the next couple of hours. Apparently Roque appreciated the assassin's taste in vehicles, even having pick up some other people as he continued driving them around. Roque exercised his control over Clint as he made the archer his personal bodyguard when they went club hopping. Having him fight the people Roque undoubtedly pissed off and just wanted to see the master assassin beat the crap out of them.

Clint bitched all he wanted though, mentally. Sometimes apologizing to the people he punched the hell out of. And Roque was just lucky he paid attention to his 'driver' otherwise Clint would have driven the car down a mountain.

The next stop was less than favorable to Clint. Roque did want Vex's territory. He wanted to make his presence known to the people who were hunting him down as the car came to stop, Clint moved stiffly being forced to open the door for him before one of Roque's entourage handed him his bow. The fact that the fucker was touching his pride and joy made him want to deck him as his hands clenched at his sides before he took it with a flick of the fae's hand, leading the way into Trick's bar with an annoyed look on his face. Roque was just there for a drink, after all. His bodyguard was just security as Clint was forced to hold the door open for the small group.

Oh god, he was even douchier than Vex! Kenzi honestly didn't think that was possible. Apparently she was incredibly wrong.

The eye contact was all it took. Her policy on killing had gotten a bit lax since Arkham and fighting the Garuda, but she still preferred the slightly less permanent soloution. She didn't have to think twice as she subtly gestured to Bo and moved away from the bar as casually as possible. Either she'd "reason" with the freak and get him to leave Vex's territory like they'd originally planned, or she'd kill him where he stood.

No one ever paid any attention to the human unless it was to turn their noses up or glare at her. Why would a mesmer flaunting his powers be any different? Bo provided the distraction, adjusting her cleavage and turning on the charm with a bright smile as Kenzi slipped around to the side.

It was easy to miss one tiny human. A little more difficult to miss was the way she moved quietly and deliberately behind Roque and suddenly there was a knife pressed up against his throat.

"Take it easy, you totally hideous, Seasame Street reject. Cool it on the puppeteering for just a sec. Nice selection of guard-fae around you, I get it. But don't for a second think that I wouldn't carve your throat like a Thanksgiving turkey before they could get to me. Better tell them to hit the road." Her voice was cold. She meant it. Bo was shocked, and maybe even a little bit worried. Not FOR Kenzi, but about her.

When it looked like Roque was about to lift one of his hands, she held the knife tighter and it bit into his skin, "Woah! Not so fast, sweetcheeks! Now, I know you can totally have me off myself right here right now, but the second you let go of him to take hold of me? You're practically six feet under. Trust me, he's way better at the hurting people thing than I am, and I don't think he'd give you the option to walk outta here like I am. So, what's it gonna be, buddy?"

She just needed him to let go of Clint. Break the connection. She didn't care what happened after that, as long as he let go of Clint.
